Brass Come Back Late to Clip Men
|
It was a good time at Brass Field, where fans came to watch the Florida Men and Baton Rouge Brass get after it.
The Baton Rouge Brass topped the Florida Men by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Alex Warner. Warner was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Brass. Ryan Neal earned the save for Baton Rouge, his 2nd of the year.
Warner contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Baton Rouge in the bottom of the eighth. With his team trailing 5-4, Warner took a fastball from Norberto Huerta and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Brass to leap in front, 7-5.
"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Warner.
The Brass are now 23-19, while the Men fall to 16-26.
