Squirrel Monkeys Score Late, Upend Brass, 5-4
|
Syracuse starter Matt Dunn had a strong outing against the Baton Rouge Brass at The Zoo in Syracuse. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-4 win. Reliever Fernando Mora picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Ryan Neal took the loss. The Squirrel Monkeys improved to a lofty 25-10.
Paul Byrd was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Squirrel Monkeys third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Byrd. "And not try to do too much."
