Warriors Raise Rally Flag, Beat Florida, 4-3
|
The Forest City Warriors knocked off the Florida Men, 4-3, at League Park. Ernest Franks, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Forest City won. The center fielder went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Forest City reliever Elliot Roebuck picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Marty McFly was saddled with the loss. The losses continue to mount for Florida, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
Derek Healey was the walk-off hero for Forest City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Warriors designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Healey told the Forest City Herald.
