Kuthakwakulu, Flyers Humble Monsters
|
With left fielder Ayub Kuthakwakulu leading the charge, the Pennsauken Flyers defeated the Monongahela Monsters, 12-2, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Kuthakwakulu went 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. José Jiménez picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 2 in 6 innings. Pennsauken has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
It could have been a different outcome for Pennsauken, had it not been for Bras Castanheta, the 25-year old third baseman . Castanheta contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Pennsauken up, 4-2.
"We've got a great group of guys," Castanheta said, "and we're having fun right now."
