Squirrel Monkeys Drop Warriors, 8-4
|
Bill Stanton was instrumental in his team's 8-4 triumph over the Forest City Warriors. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys. Fernando Mora was credited with the save for Syracuse, his 2nd of the season. The Squirrel Monkeys, at 20-9, lead by one game in their division.
Syracuse took a 6-1 lead on Stanton's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Guillermo Guerrero in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Syracuse to the win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Stanton. "And not try to do too much."
