Coyotes Nip Warriors, 5-4
|
Forest City right fielder Esteban Piņeiro was sensational. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Hamilton beat the Warriors, 5-4. Piņeiro was named the player of the game despite the loss. Hamilton starter Luis Soto was credited with the win after throwing 110 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 1-4. Hamilton is last in the Silver AAA with a record of 8-19.
Hamilton took a 5-2 lead on Jason Powell's 25th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Powell hit in the top of the seventh, left Forest City pitcher Thomas Careless shaking his head.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Powell said.
