Victory Pushes Squirrel Monkeys Record to 15-7
|
Syracuse left-hander Dave McAlear made an effective start against the Florida Men at Psychos Ballpark, leading his team to a 5-2 win. McAlear went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-0. Syracuse has an impressive 15-7 record.
The result might have been different for Syracuse, had it not been for Luis Rodríguez. The shortstop produced a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-0. For the game, Rodríguez had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," McAlear said.
