Warriors Drop Another One
|
Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys starter Emilio Linger pitched a strong game against the Forest City Warriors at League Park, leading the Squirrel Monkeys to a 3-2 win. Linger, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Getting the save was Chris Plautz, his 6th.
It could have been a different outcome for Syracuse, had it not been for Zhong-yan Zhang, the top prospect . Zhang contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Syracuse up, 2-0.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Linger told the Syracuse Citizen.
At 9-4, the Squirrel Monkeys have played well so far.
