The inspired effort of Syracuse right fielder Pepe Savinon was not enough to prevent a 11-8 loss to the Sacramento Redlegs. Savinon went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Zach Brown closed the game out for Sacramento, earning his 7th save. The 5th-place Redlegs have won 4 in a row.

Sacramento used the timely hitting of De-wei Chi to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Redlegs on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Chi.
