Nobles Roll to 8-2 Win Over Disaster
|
The Bakersfield Nobles grabbed a 8-2 win over the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Port Royal. Bakersfield shortstop Kiambu Fentress went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs to earn player of the game honors. Bakersfield reliever Kelemeneke Balun was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ren-qing Weng. Marcos Zambrano sewed up the save, his 3rd.
In the top of the first, Ángel López pounced on a cutter from Ren-qing Weng and hit a run-scoring single. It gave Bakersfield a quick 1-0 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," López told the Bakersfield Daily News.
The first-place Nobles, at 67-32, now lead their division by 7˝ games.
