Victory Over Coyotes Takes Syracuse to 8-4
|
Syracuse starter Yin-zhen Wu pitched effectively against the Hamilton Coyotes at The Zoo in Syracuse. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Wu, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 12 and giving up 4 walks. Chris Plautz closed the game out for Syracuse, earning his 5th save.
Syracuse took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Yong-ho Jheon stroked a run-scoring double to make it 2-1, Squirrel Monkeys.
Jheon called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The Squirrel Monkeys, now 8-4, have been playing some good baseball.
