Humpbacks Come Back Late to Top Disaster
|
Fans who gathered at Ballpark of Port Royal saw a good contest between the Alaskan Humpbacks and Port Royal Disaster.
The Humpbacks had to overcome a good performance from Port Royal pitcher Ren-qing Weng to claim a 6-4 win at Ballpark of Port Royal. Weng went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Alaskan reliever Kingston Liniak was credited with the win, to go to 7-4. Peace Addo took the loss for Port Royal.
Alaskan used the timely hitting of Marc Hayman to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Humpbacks ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Hayman. "And not try to do too much."
The Humpbacks bumped their record to 54-36 with this latest triumph.
