Bakersfield and Syracuse duked it out at Stark Stadium and the Nobles came out victorious.

Carlos Rivera made an impact in the 7-4 Bakersfield win over Syracuse. Rivera, who is rated as the 3rd best prospect by BNN, was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Rhys Maskell, who went 8.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-1.

Bakersfield used the timely hitting of Jasper Morrison to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Nobles ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Morrison told the Bakersfield Daily News.
