The Plymouth Rocks got a superb performance from pitcher Melvin Turner. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tortolita. The Drummers won the game, 7-4. In spite of the loss, Turner was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 4 runs. Tortolita is now 53-35.

Tortolita used the timely hitting of Hayes Rutherford to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Drummers ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Tortolita manager Barrett Abbott.
