Sacramento right fielder Roosevelt Cartledge had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-3, to Norfolk at Norfolk Field. Cartledge was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Norfolk reliever Da'wan Gaines picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Don Johnson was saddled with the loss. Jason Poulter locked down his 1st save.

The Pajaritos took the lead in the bottom of the third when Charles Sheffield banged a two-out single. Norfolk had been trailing 3-2, but Sheffield hit a first pitch fastball from Don Johnson for a 2-run single.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Sheffield told the Norfolk Times.

Norfolk now sits in 4th place in the Premier AAA at 46-35.
