Nobles Win in Extras
|
Bakersfield beat Alaskan at Sea World, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Aldo Ottens, who earned player of the game honors. Bakersfield reliever Skip Walker picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Josh Hall absorbed the loss. Bakersfield has an impressive 54-26 record.
Chut-sai Meng's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Josh Hall for a run-scoring single. It put Bakersfield in front, 3-2.
Afterward, Nobles manager José Gonzáles was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
