The Tortolita Drummers defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 6-3, in USPL Triple A action at Ballpark of Port Royal, with Tortolita pitcher Allen Werner named player of the game. Werner, the winner, moves to 8-2. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 7 walks. Ignacio Uribe, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
The Drummers grabbed the lead in the top of the second. With one out, Graeme Dormer hit a 2-run home run off Ren-qing Weng, putting Tortolita in front, 4-0. For Dormer, it was his 11th home run of the season.
"Enjoyed this one," Dormer told the Tortolita Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
