Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Kansas Rainbeaus were eager to watch Boris Milatovic square off against Todd Hunter of the visiting Monongahela Monsters. In the end, the Rainbeaus won the game, 5-4, with Boris Milatovic earning player of the game honors. Clinton Repetto got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Benigno Bachelay had a big run-scoring double for the Rainbeaus in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Kansas leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Todd Hunter and stroked the double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rainbeaus ahead, 5-1.

"Good to get a win," said Bachelay, "but it's a long season."
