The Port Royal Disaster had to overcome a big game from Jersey City left fielder Kevin Hancock to leave Ballpark of Port Royal with a 5-4 victory. Hancock went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Manny Rodríguez finished the game for Port Royal and earned his 15th save. The Disaster improve their record to 29-45 with the win over Jersey City.
Sean Roberts made an early impact for Port Royal when he stroked his 48th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which came with one out in the bottom of the first, put the Disaster on top, 5-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Jersey City manager Jack Alexander. "But we decided not to take it."
