Pajaritos Win at Port Royal, 12-3
|
Pajaritos shortstop Roland Reece put his stamp on his team's 12-3 win over the Port Royal Disaster. Reece went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Norfolk in the contest. Ron Jordan, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 6-3. The third-place Pajaritos are now 42-30, the Disaster 28-44.
With Norfolk leading 3-0 in the top of the first, Reece hit a grand slam home run off Port Royal hurler Jalmari Lostedt. It was the 2nd home run of the season for Reece and put his team ahead, 7-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Pajaritos manager Curt Kenney. "We came out swinging the bats."
