Rocks Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Plymouth Rocks picked up a win at Jerome Grounds, knocking off the Bakersfield Nobles, 3-2. Starting pitcher Lance Farmer was an essential part of his team's success. Driscoll Craft picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-6. Grover Lowdermilk was tagged with the loss. The Rocks move to 26-46 with the win, while the Nobles drop to 49-23.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Rafael Martínez to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rocks ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Plymouth manager José Reyes.
