Lee Stars in Turbeaus Win
|
Vance Lee made an impact in the 6-4 Gulf Coast win over Virginia Beach. Lee, who is tied for 6th in the SAA with a .550 slugging percentage, went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Kevin Hamm picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-3. He struck out 3 in 5.2 innings. Luis Valdés recorded the save for Gulf Coast, his 9th of the season.
Lee put Gulf Coast up, 6-2, when he hit a 3-run home run off Daryl Benstead in the bottom of the fourth. His 6th home run of the season helped the Turbeaus capture the win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lee told the Gulf Coast Observer.
The Turbeaus now have a mark of 15-17.
