Hartford beat Syracuse on the strength of starter Phat Tra's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 7-1 win. Tra got the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8.1 innings. Tra allowed 1 earned run. Hartford is 8th in the Premier AAA with a record of 24-39.

Hartford shortstop Ramón Garmendia contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Pride ahead, 4-1.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Garmendia told the Hartford Daily.
