Crescent City Krewe starter Kuniyuki Sugimoto was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Akron Blimps, 8-2. The Krewe saw their record improve to 16-14.

The Krewe took the lead in the bottom of the second when Sergio Vargas banged a two-out single. Crescent City had been trailing 1-0, but Vargas hit a 1-0 fastball from Michael Ramsey for a 2-run single.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Vargas.
