The Plymouth Rocks got a sterling performance from second baseman You-liang Yang, but the Pajaritos still prevailed, 7-3. Yang was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Zhi-qiang Ku, who threw 94 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. Norfolk has now won 4 in a row.
Norfolk used a timely hit from Jorge Rocha to get the win. The center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pajaritos on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good up there," said Rocha. "I saw the ball well."
