The Hartford Pride and Syracuse Starks cranked it up at Pride Park.

The Syracuse Starks beat the Hartford Pride, 7-3, at Pride Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Yoshiki Shimizu, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bernardo López earned the win to go to 6-3. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.

The outcome might have been different for Syracuse, had it not been for Patrick Mildren, the 27-year old second baseman . Mildren stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Syracuse up, 6-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mildren said after the game.

The Starks now have a record of 33-29.
