Shredders Nip Battery, 4-3
|
The Hollywood Shredders did just enough to sneak past the Charleston Battery, 4-3, at The Hollywood Bowl. Hollywood pitcher Lloyd Natoff earned player of the game honors. With the win over Charleston, the Shredders improved to 29-19.
Mario Castillo was a prime contributor to the Hollywood win. He was 1-4. In the bottom of the sixth with one out, the slick-fielding second baseman hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 4-3, in favor of the Shredders.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt.
