Victory Pushes Drummers Record to 31-28
|
The Syracuse Starks and Tortolita Drummers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Stark Stadium.
Tortolita second baseman Lonnie Doble was instrumental in his team's 7-3 win over the Syracuse Starks. Doble, who is tied for 10th in the PAAA with a .507 slugging percentage, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Drummers. The Drummers raised their record to 31-28.
Tortolita used the bat of Rick Crockett to capture the win. The designated hitter jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Drummers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Doble.
