Starks Fall Short, 3-2, at Plymouth
|
Plymouth got a strong outing from Josh Brennan as the Rocks defeated the Syracuse Starks, 3-2, at Plymouth Quarry. Monte Evans picked up the save, his 7th. The 'W' lifts Plymouth's record to 16-34.
Plymouth right fielder Jesús Guillén contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball into left-center field for a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Rocks ahead, 3-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Guillén told the Plymouth Observer.
