Akron rode a fine outing from starter Henry Terry to victory over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The final score was 2-1. Reliever Jorge Pagán picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Edward Swetnam took the loss. Michael Ramsey earned the save for Akron, his 1st.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Blimps sent 22-year-old right fielder Takahashi Yano to the plate with a runner on 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, to put Akron on top, 2-1.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Yano said after the game.
