The Norfolk Pajaritos did just enough to sneak past the Tortolita Drummers, 2-1, at Drummers Ballpark. Norfolk pitcher Ron Jordan earned player of the game honors. The Drummers, at 24-18, have lost 4 in a row.
Norfolk needed the clutch hitting of Nathan Nelson to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pajaritos on top, 2-1. For the game, Nelson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Norfolk manager Curt Kenney.
