Akron right-hander Lance Mascola helped his team edge Tacoma by the score of 2-1. Mascola kept the opposing lineup in check. Gypsyamber D'Souza earned his 7th save in 9 tries. The loss lowers the Tacoma record to 8-11.

Mike Fisher was 1-2 with a double. He drove in 2 runs for Akron. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gani Palu-ay. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
