The Bakersfield Nobles beat the Syracuse Starks, 7-4, at Jerome Grounds. Jasper Morrison was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The 33-year old right fielder was a menace to Syracuse all day. Bakersfield reliever Marcos Zambrano was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Lawrence Lane. Bing-zhong Qiu earned the save, his 1st, for the Nobles.
Steve Lodge aided the Bakersfield cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder drew 2 walks.
"It's great to be on a roll," said Lodge.
The winning streak has now reached 12 games for Bakersfield.
