Late Rally by Pajaritos Seals 4th Straight Win
|
Norfolk Pajaritos starter Zhi-qiang Ku was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Port Royal Disaster, 4-2. Norfolk reliever Tom Peña picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Tyrone Poole was collared with the loss. The Disaster, at 11-22, have lost 4 straight games.
Norfolk used the timely hitting of Jorge Rocha to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pajaritos ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Norfolk manager Curt Kenney.
