Reus Dazzles in Gwinnett Win
Gwinnett and Squirrel Hill duked it out at Field of the Rawhides and the Guinea Pigs came out victorious.

Gwinnett pitcher Foeke Reus did his part in helping his team beat the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Francisco Díaz was credited with the save for Gwinnett, his 3rd of the season.

Reus, a native of Princess Quarter, Sint Maarten, was dealing all game. He kept Squirrel Hill hitters off-balance, while giving the Guinea Pigs 8 quality innings. Reus threw 91 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Gwinnett skipper Enrique Fuentes.

The win brings the Guinea Pigs to 8-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
