Nationals Walk Off with Win
|
The Ottawa Nationals outlasted the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 6-3, in 16 innings. Hulama Yani played a key role, going 4-for-6 for Ottawa. Ottawa, now 4-8, is off to a slow start.
Ottawa took a 6-3 lead on Maikel Nelis's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Squirrel Hill pitcher Paul Love in the bottom of the 16th.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Nationals manager Ralph Wood. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
