Late Rally by Disaster Secures Win
|
In a tight contest at Ballpark of Port Royal, the Port Royal Disaster edged the Alaskan Humpbacks by the score of 7-6. Port Royal left fielder Gerold Kent, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Port Royal is 8th in the Premier AAA with a record of 8-16.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Port Royal trailing 6-5, Michael Brannon hit a sinker from Sean Kennedy to right for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Disaster had a walk-off win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Kent, "but we got it done."
