The Syracuse Starks topped the Plymouth Rocks, 4-2, in USPL Triple A action at Stark Stadium. The player of the game was Syracuse pitcher James Lendell Basford. With the win, the Starks improved to 11-11.

Yoshiki Shimizu had a big 2-run single for the Starks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Syracuse trailing 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from Josh Brennan and stroked the single to right. It was his 37th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Starks ahead, 3-2.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Syracuse manager John Wright.
