Krewe Win Another One
|
The Crescent City Krewe grabbed a 6-3 win over the Tacoma Fur Traders at Field of the Krewe. Crescent City designated hitter Vicente Perales went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He scored 3 times to earn player of the game honors. Taine Poutini got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Picking up the save was Pat Martin, his 4th.
With Crescent City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Perales hit a curveball from Francis Riley for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Krewe ahead, 2-0.
In postgame comments to the Crescent City Bulletin, Perales said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Krewe raised their record to 10-0.
