Great Stroke: Bickerton Gets 5 Hits
|
Sam Bickerton was sizzling at the plate today. The Tacoma right fielder blistered the Squirrel Hill Pierogis for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to a 4-3 defeat.
"Bickerton was too tough to get out today," Pierogis skipper Randy Stevens said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win."
Sam Bickerton doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
