Pride Drop Tritons, 8-4
|
The Hartford Pride bested the Jersey City Tritons by a score of 8-4, with second baseman Ramón Garmendia getting the main credit. On the day, Garmendia went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Pride. Hartford starter Ismael Calderón was credited with the win after throwing 110 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. The Pride, with just their 5th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Hartford left fielder Peer Kattenberg contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Pride ahead, 5-2.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Kattenberg.
