Slaughter Dazzles in Tacoma Win
|
Ballpark of Tacoma was the site of a competitive game between the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and Tacoma Fur Traders.
In a tight game between the Tacoma Fur Traders and the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, pitcher Bill Slaughter was terrific on the mound. The Tacoma right-hander was named the player of the game in Tacoma's 3-1 win. Tacoma is now 5-3.
Slaughter, the winner, is now 1-0 after putting the clamps on the Squirrel Hill offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 9 Ks.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Slaughter told the Tacoma Observer.
