Krewe Reel Off Another Win
Crescent City right-hander Bhu Damocles made an effective start against the Virginia Beach Whales at Virginia Beach Grounds, leading his team to a 5-4 win. Damocles, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. The loss lowers the Virginia Beach record to 2-4.

Crescent City used the timely hitting of Alan Shepherd to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Krewe on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Virginia Beach manager Bernie Drake.
