Krewe Stymie Virginia Beach, Take 5-1 Win
|
The Crescent City Krewe topped the Virginia Beach Whales by the score of 5-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Ramón Gabriel. Gabriel was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs for the Krewe on the day. The win was credited to Héctor Sanz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mark Taylor took the loss. With their winning streak at 5, the Krewe have raced to a strong start this season.
With Crescent City leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Gabriel hit a cutter from Mark Taylor for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Krewe ahead, 4-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gabriel told the Crescent City Bulletin.
