Guinea Pigs Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Nationals
|
The Ottawa Nationals went down to defeat to Noah Walker and his Gwinnett teammates. The final score was 5-1 in favor of the Guinea Pigs. Gwinnett reliever Carlos Carrillo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Maxwell absorbed the loss. The win gives the Guinea Pigs a record of 2-2.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when shortstop Mhelter Tejano, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, hit a single. The Guinea Pigs went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Tejano told the Gwinnett Bulletin.
