Yoritomo Sato was instrumental in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Alaskan Humpbacks. The third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Syracuse Starks. Lawrence Lane earned the save for Syracuse, his 1st of the year. Losses have been rare for the Humpbacks, who are now 8-3.

The Starks got a big at-bat from second baseman Damon Newbold. For the game, Newbold went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Syracuse a 5-3 lead.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Newbold told reporters after the game.
