Curtis Tiger had a big hand in Tortolita's 18-2 triumph over Sacramento. He rattled off 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scoring 4 times and knocking in 2 runs. For his performance, Tiger was named player of the game. Tortolita reliever Bill Tennant picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Korbin Dallas absorbed the loss. It was the 7th win in 10 games this year for the defending champion Drummers, who are picking up where they left off.

Tortolita used the timely hitting of Fernando Urby to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Drummers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
