The Akron Blimps picked up a win at Field of the Rawhides, knocking off the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 7-4. Starting pitcher Leonardo Sánchez played a key role in the triumph. The win takes Akron to 2-0.

Akron used the bat of Dave Hill to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Blimps ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Hill said.
