Atoms Roll to 9-1 Win Over Turbeaus
|
The Bethesda Atoms went home winners at Atoms Field, thanks in large part to starter José Jiménez. Jiménez silenced the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, enabling Bethesda to grab the 9-1 win. The loss lowers the Gulf Coast record to 1-1.
Jorge Gardella drove in 3 runs, while scoring 2 times for Bethesda. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Kevin Hamm. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"We played hard and won," said Jiménez. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
