Blimps Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
The 2043 season began for the Squirrel Hill Pierogis with a loss to the Akron Blimps at Field of the Rawhides. The final score was 4-1. Akron pitcher Javier Merlo earned top player honors. Merlo got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Merlo allowed 1 earned run. Picking up the save was Gypsyamber D'Souza, his 1st.
